Still Moving

Okay I just got home from class, waiting for the Giants game to start but the first thing I did when I came home was move my laptop back to my table. It’s been on my bed for the past few days which probably explains why I can’t get anything done! I’ve got a lot to do! And I think it will take some time for me to adjust to wordpress, one thing I’ve noticed and already don’t like is that it does take a few extra seconds for pages to be published which is annoying. I know it’s just a few seconds, but I’m impatient!

When I imported my blog over to wordpress, it read all my tags as categories, so now I’m trying to change it. Like I said before, the changes are very slow, each click takes at least 5 seconds for it to go into effect. Another thing is, some changes don’t seem to want to say permanent and they change back, and then I have to change it again! Frustrating to say the least.

Finally finished updating all the posts and categories and what not, I’m still not sure if I like it the way it is yet. But its 8! and it’s time for me to go and grab some grub! A girl’s gotta eat y’know. I’m thinking KFC tonight, hahaha horrible, but who cares, its soooo good!

Vegas BABAY

See that Eiffle Tower thing right there? That’s where we stayed at!

I haven’t written in so long because this weekend I went to Vegas! It was so much fun that I didn’t want to leave. Although I think the drive back damn near killed us. It takes 10 hours to drive there, and when we went, there wasn’t much traffic. But on our way back, every 100 miles was like at least an hour of traffic, like 0 mph kind of traffic. It was horrible!

And then I had a midterm on Monday at 10 AM. So I brought my notes with me, but I didn’t get much studying in. I don’t know how I did.

So in Vegas, I’m not that type of girl who likes clubs and drinking and such, although I did get pretty drunk one night when we were there. It was mostly cause we met up with some friends from SoCal (Southern California). I had 2 beers at dinner, and then we decided to buy vodka and redbull/oj and play king’s cup. I had to drink the first one, and I shot it cause I forgot it wasn’t beer…LOL. Let’s just say, I don’t remember anything after that. Amazingly, I changed myself, and took out my contacts. Insane right?

At Vegas, we went with my uncle, so I just played with his money, but I won like 600 dollars…he gave me $400 even before I started. So I didn’t really risk my own money. But it felt the same, I don’t like losing money. I had a lot of fun, I love to gamble, must be the Asian in me. =] We also went to Circus Circus, and played like a lot of carnival games. I always play this one game where you roll 6 rubber balls and try to get either a score of under 11 or over 29. So you need 10 or less or 30 or more to win. Theres 6 numbers in this order: 3, 4, 1, 6, 2, 5, 3. Apparently the game is pretty hard because the prizes are pretty big. I won one everytime I’ve been there, so I guess I’m pretty good at that game. Now if only I was good at school =]…Did you guys do anything fun over the weekend?

Navy Blue and White Shawl

DANG! Alright, so for some reason, I can’t access blogger from my mac, so I had to switch over to Windows to edit this. Very troublesome!

But it’s okay, I’ve taken a very nice picture of that shawl I told you guys about! I’m totally excited about it, it looks greatttt thus far. I’ve been working on it for a while now..I think I’m almost done, maybe another 3 rows. When I finish I’ll be sure to put up more pictures =]

Here’s a picture of my crochet hook hahaha. I saw this somewhere online, it said to use masking tape to wrap the crochet hook and then slip the pencil squishy thing over it. Here I did a little something different and I must say I like it a lot. I put a popsicle stick in there so the bottom side will be flat, so flat but still squishy! Definitely crocheting a lot faster now, and also my hand doesn’t hurt anymore. It’s kind of ugly but I’ll do something about that later on.

Teeny Hat is now TOO BIG for my head

Remember that hat that I made and was too small for my head. Then I took it apart…and remade it! (I’m a perfectionist) Well I’m all done with that, and I adjusted it to what I thought it should be, but I forgot to account for one thing. Stretching. Damnit! Well, now its a bit too big, I mean it’s still wearable, but, it’s not perfect. I might have to take it apart tomorrow and redo it again! We’ll see how it goes =]

See how it’s just sitting there on my head, I wanted it to look like the one that the girl made! It looks so much better on her. I don’t know what to do, what do you guys think? Remake it? I’m going to be thinking about how unperfect it is everytime I wear it! ha ha. I am so the type to dwell on the imperfections even if other people can’t see it, it will drive me crazy.

Yay FInally Some Visitors!

Okay so I may seem a bit over excited but today a whopping 30 new visitors came to my page. It seems someone linked to my page through my DIY earring holder page…which I am super happpy about! Butttt, one thing is, I visited the site just to see what was up, when I got there, it was alllll jibberish! The entire website is in another language completely, I was pretty much devastated. I don’t even know what language its in, ha ha. The funny thing is, my bounce rate went up a million percent, so I’m assuming they took one look at my jibberish and left! 10marifet.org

But, it’s okay! I shall prevail through all this. I’m pretty proud of myself, making good progress here. Before I was all by my lonesome, but now this gives me some hope! Maybe someone else will see my genius as well :] and send some more new readers my way (preferably english speaking, but if not that’s okay, I’ll make sure to make my site very image heavy!) I know! I’m being silly getting so happy over such a small thing. These people out there with like 1000000 page views in a day will scoff at me, but hey, I’m easily satisfied.

I was on craftster loooking for some good crocheting blogs, just cause its 3 AM and I have nothing better to do. I came across this blog, lisaacrochet and I read through the first and 2nd posts, definitely a lot of potential! I could see myself coming back to it sometime in the future, like maybe tomorrow when I’m not sleepy. Then I realized she only wrote 3 posts and stopped. I was pretty sad. I think that was me, at one point in the past. Until this blog of course, this will be my….41st entry? Like I said before, MAKING GOOD PROGRESS HERE buds! =]

Still Trying to Personalize My Life on the Internets

So I’m still in the process of making this page more me. This layout is some generic layout that I stole from someone, I don’t even know who anymore. I’m thinking of it like decorating my room! And I can’t wait until the moment where everything is just the way I like it, and totally expresses my personality! Also, I’d really like to be more consistent in my posts as well as commenting on other peoples blogs. I must admit I like what I’m seeing out there. Of course, starting is the hardest part.

My Big Head vs My TEENY Hat

So I found a pattern for this cute crochet hat online at this site called Crafty Pants and I had to have one of my own. Looks pretty easy, and it was. Only took me a few hours after a few mistakes here and there. But she didn’t include a gauge, so I assumed it would be one of those one size fits all kind of things. Of course, I didn’t factor in that my head is abnormally large. So when I finished, IT WAS TINY!!! Would barely sit on the top of my head, thats how tiny it was. About the size of my open hand…RIDIC! I am taking it apart and remaking it, this time accounting for my big head. =]

What Lies Ahead? Uncertainty…mostly

I’ve been thinking extensively of the future lately, and I’m not quite sure where I’m headed anymore. As time goes on, I am discovering more and more things about myself. I used to have a very clear idea of the person I thought I was, who I wanted to be and how I would live my life. But the more I learn about myself, the more lost and confused I become. I used to value money pretty highly, and I linked that hand in hand with success. But I’ve found that being happy is more important than money, and sometimes success comes with feeling accomplished rather than with a dollar sign.

I know I’m still young should not even be thinking about things like this. But when is it that I will finally grow up? I just turned 22 and by many people’s standards, I can already be called a woman, a word I’ve always despised being called because it sounds old! But in my mind, I still feel like a little girl most of the time, just like in high school, but even more confused than before. Going backwards a little I guess is what I’m doing. When I was 18 working at my first restaurant job, I knew a bunch of girls who were 21 and they just seemed so much more mature than I am now.

I got kicked out of school last January and is now suffering through summer school to try to get back in. But I’m not doing so hot. College was always a sure thing in my head, the next step after high school. For some people it was an option, but for me it was never optional, even now when every other day I want to drop out, I know I won’t. I can’t see a future for me that doesn’t involve college. I probably won’t get back into school because I did so horribly, but maybe a miracle will happen and if I do really good this session, they’ll let me back in, but I really doubt it. Those administrators hardly care for students anymore at the big schools, all they care about is money, and stats for the school, stats, rank and money.

But I’ve already started planning for the worse, thinking about how to make myself be a productive person even when not in school. I haven’t even looked for an apartment up here for next year because I’m planning on moving back. I’m planning on moving back to the city and looking for a job, and probably take some tax classes at night. 2 reasons, 1, maybe they will be useful in the future, 2, I need to be a full time student to get insurance! I will just try to get back into school again next summer. The good part is, my mother is very understanding. Although I didn’t tell her the complete truth, I’m surprised she’s okay with me not going to school for a year. Asian parents can hardly be expected to react so well.

I didn’t mean to bore you and get all serious and philosophical with my life problems all of a sudden, but I pretty much had to force myself to write this. Usually I start writing, because I want to share my thoughts, but I don’t really like talking about things that bother me. Some people think I have issues with facing my problems head on, and I agree. So now I’m taking the smallest step possible. But hey, it’s a step in the right direction.

Projects on the Horizon

So, back to the crocheting frenzy!

I’ve been working on a few things. 1 is my big bag that’s going to be my new yarn carrying around bag :] but I’ve kind of put it on the back burner because I don’t really know how I want it to look when its done.

Then I’m also working on some arm warmers! They’re an obsession of mine, I don’t know why but I just love them! I know its summer and all, but it’s freaking cold in San Francisco. I also don’t like to knit things that require extensive finger molding. These are the first that I’ve made and they’re looking fabulous! They’re actually blue, I know they look sort of grey in the 2nd pic but they’re blue. I’m done with 1 and just working on finishing the left hand, almost done! Can’t wait to wear them out. :]

Those are the 2 things I’m actually working on right now, after that, I’m going to have some leftover yarn from the armwarmers, so I’m going to be working on one of those slouchy hat types. And also, my aunt wants a shawl, so I’ve been looking online for ideas and I’ve found some good ones. Hopefully these things will turn out the way I imagined them in my head.
